About Small Chair Conversations
Small Chair Conversations is a father-and-son interview project building a growing library of honest, meaningful conversations for the next generation.
Hosted by Andras and supported behind the scenes by his father, Tamas, the project invites people from different walks of life to share their experiences, challenges, values and lessons they have learned.
Each conversation is prepared with care, but it is not scripted. Andras brings his own curiosity and questions, while guests are given the time and space to answer openly in a calm, respectful setting.
Why this project exists
Young people are surrounded by narrow ideas of success, often centred on fame, money or appearance. Small Chair Conversations offers something different: real people speaking honestly about effort, setbacks, kindness, responsibility and the experiences that shaped them.
By giving Andras the opportunity to ask thoughtful questions and listen to the answers, the project encourages curiosity and confidence while creating conversations that can be valuable to young viewers, families, educators and the wider community.
What we hope to create
We are building a growing library of conversations that can offer encouragement, perspective and hope. Guests are chosen for the value of their experiences, their character and what they can contribute—not simply for their status or the size of their audience.
We hope viewers come away from each conversation with a new idea, question or message to carry with them. Some interviews may inspire, others may inform, and many will reveal the human stories behind people, professions, teams and organisations.
How conversations are conducted
Each conversation is carefully planned and recorded in a calm, respectful environment. Andras reviews the questions beforehand and may contribute his own ideas, but he is never expected to memorise a script or perform.
His wellbeing and enjoyment always come first. He can pause, take a break or stop at any time, and Tamas remains present throughout every recording. Guests are also given clear information beforehand and are encouraged to answer honestly and at a comfortable pace.
Who is behind Small Chair Conversations
Small Chair Conversations is created by Andras and his father, Tamas. Andras hosts the conversations, bringing his curiosity, honesty and own perspective. Tamas manages the planning, guest communication, recording, editing and safeguarding responsibilities behind the project.
Together, they are building Small Chair Conversations carefully and responsibly, at a pace that protects Andras’s wellbeing and keeps the experience positive and enjoyable for him.
Looking ahead
As the project grows, we hope to speak with people from many different walks of life and build lasting relationships with individuals, teams, organisations and communities that share our values.
We want these conversations to reach young people, families, educators and wider audiences wherever they are. Growth will always be approached carefully and responsibly, with quality, trust, safeguarding and Andras’s wellbeing placed ahead of schedules or numbers.
